Step 2: Push the Target Buddy into the ground until the cup "bottoms out" - filling the cup with your plug. To ease the dig, push into the ground with a twisting motion. The Target Buddy works best in moist, heavier soils.
Step 3: Remove the plug by turning your Target Buddy upside down. Place the plunger disc on the ground and push down on the Target Buddy handles.
Step 4: Carefully remove your plug from the Target Buddy cup and check your plug or check the hole for your target. It may be necessary to plug the hole again for deep targets.
Step 5: Check your hole for your target.
Step 6: You should always use a drop cloth to break the plugs apart. A second plug may be needed to find your target.
Step 7: Once your target has been found and removed, return the second plug in the hole first by lightly breaking it apart and then compact it. This will allow the top plug to be flush with the ground. If the plug sits a little high, it may be necesary to step on the plug to level it with the ground.
Step 8: Your target has been removed and the location has been left virtually unharmed.
